Initial Consultation
Initial consultation requires appointment confirmation with payment. Timely completion of all forms is necessary to provide proper evaluation of nutritional plans. I highly encourage feedback and collectively discuss matters of concern during follow ups so we can address your personal nutritional needs first. I encourage you to come to the session with your questions, concerns, and a nice cup of tea or water for all appointments. A place where you will have no distractions is necessary so we can communicate without distractions.
I encourage you to try a session and learn what is best for your body nutritionally. I would be honored to help you.
What to Expect
I will first work on getting to know your full medical history, understanding your food intake, learning about your habits, asking about what foods you like or dislike, talking about your role and relationship with food, ask about digestive concerns with food, cooking, meal planning, stress level, work, physical exercise, and sleep. Integrative nutrition strives to look at all aspects of your health in order to give recommendations that will work for your lifestyle.
After our consultation, you will receive feedback via your portal with the option to schedule a follow up. It takes a good week with some clients to receive feedback, so patience is necessary in this process. After our initial appointment if you still have questions, you can send them via portal messenger, and we can discuss during follow up.
It is recommended to have two follow ups each month for up to six months for best results with your concerns and then one appointment each month for three months for evaluation of your plan. We all have different nutritional concerns so there are cases where we might have to meet each week for accountability. For some, an initial consultation is all that is needed but follow ups can lead to successful results.
Follow Up Consultation
Follow ups are 45 minutes and they require booking ahead of time to meet your time frame needs. In our sessions of follow ups, we will discuss further recommendations, re-evaluation of previous recommendations, your dislikes and likes with recipes given, how you are feeling overall, the sleep pattern or change, the tests ordered and results, the new tests we might need to order, your doctors referrals that I suggest, physical exercise suggestions and changes, supplements, a demo can be booked if needed for cooking for this session, a meal plan suggestion if necessary, an evaluation of micro and macros, education on nutritional concerns, and workbooks that we might incorporate for mindful eating and intuitive eating.
FAQs
How many follow ups might I need?
That depends on your nutritional needs for health. Every client has different concerns, but most clients meet their needs within six follow ups once it becomes a routine and they are educated on their changes.
What should I do to prepare for follow ups?
Follow ups are individually based and usually it is an assessment of whatever recommendations were given or tests ordered so it is informational and educational. If you did not complete your recommendations or tests, I do encourage you to keep your appointment as there are other parts of the assessment plan we are able to discuss and work on.
Do all clients require follow ups?
Most clients do.
Will there be homework with some follow ups?
There might be homework but it should not take more than a few minutes to complete and usually it is a fun task to accomplish.
Do you refer clients to needed specialists?
Yes, if necessary, the client will be aware by the second follow up.
